1974 Maserati Bora
Build date: December 1973

1974 Bora, Rame Met (copper) with off-white interior, 5-speed, 4.9 liter engine.

This is without a doubt one of the nicest and most original Bora still in existence. The car has only 13,300 original miles and it looks and drives like a
low mileage car should. The paint is mostly original with some minor touch ups. The paint quality is very good with a very nice shine. Body fit and
finish is superb, Interior is all original .... including leather, carpet, dash and headliner. It currently has a modern radio with CD installed but the
original Blaupunkt comes with the car, as well as the radio's operating manual. There is NO rust and NO collision damage. The stainless steel top is in
great condition. This Bora is about as clean and straight as you will ever find one.

Mechanically the car is also superb. The four overhead cam Maserati 4.9 liter V8 engine runs and idles perfectly with plenty of power. There are no
engine leaks and engine blows no smoke. The ZF 5-speed transaxle shifts smoothly. The hydraulic system was serviced by SM World on October
2001. Headlights go up and down as they should. Hydraulic seat and pedal adjustments are working properly. Carbs and valve clearances were done
in January 2006. Exhaust was replaced in January 2006 with stainless steel system from Stebro. AC blows cold, all gauges, including clock, are in
working order. Tires are new.

I have known about this car for some years and almost bought it several years ago. The car was bought by a gentleman in Atlanta in June 2005 when
the car only had 8,521 miles. He that did the best thing you could ever do to a Bora .... drive it and maintain it. Just last month he participated in a
Maserati event that I was also involved. We drove our cars up the North Georgia mountains and put close to 200 miles that day. The Bora did great!
The car now has 13,300 ... therefore it has been driven almost 5000 miles over the last two years. The problem with most low mileage cars is that
they have been sitting unused and usually require a lot of maintenance to make them reliable again. This car is not only low mileage but has been
driven a substantial amount of miles recently. In other words this car has been sorted out.

In 2006 this Bora won first place in its class at the Atlanta Italian Car day.  In 2007 it won second place (1st place was my recently restored Mistral

History: The car was sold new in June 1974 in Los Angeles. In 1980 it was sold to a gentleman in the Lake Tahoe, Nevada area. In 1986 it went back
to California until 2003. In 2005 it came to the Atlanta, Georgia area, where it is currently located. It is believed that this was the Bora used on the
"The Wind and the Star" brochure. For more details on that brochure, click here.

It includes documentation, original manual and tools. This car is an incredible time capsule, even the spare time is the original Michelin XWX and it
has never been used! Photos alone cannot capture its essence of this car, you really need to see it and drive it to get a good appreciation for how
nice it really is.
