|1970 Jaguar E-type Roadster, series 2
Sable with biscuit leather interior, wire wheels, 4.2 liter 6 cylinder, 4 speed full synchro gearbox, air conditioner
I sold this nice 1970 Jaguar series 2 roadster two years ago and the owner has asked me to re-sell the car for him. I just received the car and it looks
essentially the same as when I sold it. The photos below were taken by me two years ago. Since then the owner has make some improvements:
- new redline tires
- new front suspension bushings
- new CD/MP3 player
- new muffler
This e-type has an attractive color combination of Sable with biscuit interior. It comes with chrome wire wheels, manual transmission, air conditioner
and a black soft top.
This is one of the last 1970 models made as it has a May, 1970 built date. The engine number matches the data plate, see photos. Car looks, runs
and drives very good.
Body: The body of an XKE is the most important item to check when selecting a car. Mechanical things can be fixed (at a cost) but if the body is rusty
or has been in an accident you better have a large home equity loan ... as you will need it. The body of this car is extremely nice. I have yet to find
any rust or signs of prior collision damage. The bonnet is also in excellent condition, which is rare on most XKE. The floors are in very good condition
as is the trunk floor. The color combination is original to the car.
Interior: The the interior was redone some years ago using the proper materials and pattern and is in very good condition. The black soft top is in
very good condition and fits well. All gauges are original and in working order, including the clock, Dash top is in good condition without cracks.
Engine and mechanicals: Car runs great! Very good oil pressure (40 psi) and no smoke and no oil leaks The air conditioner blows cold. The tires
have about half of their life remaining. Wire wheels are in very good condition. Brakes, power steering, and electrical system are working properly.
Others: Included is the spare tire, owners manual, jack in the bag, knock off hammer and knock off tool, lubrication poster and wiring diagram.
Jaguar e-type series 2 roadsters are great touring cars. The cooling system on the series 2 cars were fitted with dial electric fans which actually work
quite well. This particular Jaguar was fitted with a third electric fan in front of the radiator, which comes handy on very hot days when the AC is being
