1962 Jaguar e-type series 1 3.8 liter Roadster

VIN: 876188
Engine: R2678-9
Body: R2476
Gearbox: EB17921 S

This is a very early series 1 3.8 e-type roadster. The car has the very desirable "flat floors" which were only used in 1961 and the early 1962 cars. The car is not running and needs a complete restoration. There is some rust on the floors but overall the body is very good for a restoration. The car is mostly complete. The front bumpers and headlight glass and trim are missing. These items are readily available from a number of Jaguar parts sources. The gasoline tank, which is not shown, does come with the car.

The engine block, gearbox and body are original to the car. The cylinder head has been replaced at some time with an correct Jaguar head, which is quite common. This car's original color was red, which is a great color. Many of the nicely restored red e-type were not originally red.

The car belongs to a friend ans it is located in North Carolina. Some of the photos show a factory hardtop which does NOT come with the car.

This is a good car if you have the skills and the time to invest in this restoration. Starting with a solid, matching numbers example, of a desirable year, is the way to go. If you check price lists you will see that the flat floor e-types are the most desirable and therefore most expensive.
