Matching number engine: 7E10154-9
Red with original black interior, 4.2 liter, all synchro 4-speed gearbox, wire wheels, triple carbs, covered headlights
This is e-type represents the end of the era for the series 1. Considered by many as the best year for the e-type, this 1967 fixed head coupe has the desirable combination of the 4.2 liter engine (original matching numbers engine to this car), full synchro gearbox, triple SU carbs and the covered headlights. This car is a 2 person coupe, not the bulky 2+2.
The body is straight and rust free. Paint is very good for a driver but not in show condition. Chrome is good, but not perfect. Interior is nice, Chrome wire wheels are very good with Michelin red line tires. Mechanically the car is excellent.
The prior owner purchased the car on eBay on Sept 2005 and paid $28,500. When he took the car to his mechanic it was clear the car needed many maintenance items done. Over $30,000 has been spent in the last year, below is a partial list:
- New stainless steel exhaust
- New clutch
- Engine was removed and all new seals installed (engine itself was found to be in good condition)
- New suspension and steering bushings
- Electrical system checked and rectified as needed
- Accessories wipers, headlights, etc) checked and rectified as needed
- Cooling
This car is well sorted and comes with receipts detailing the work completed. Ideal for the person looking for a Jaguar that is ready to drive and enjoy.
