This is a very original 1973 Jaguar series 3 V12 roadster with only 16,600 miles, and in excellent condition. The car comes with the rare factory hardtop, automatic, wire wheels, power steering and (cold) air conditioner. The car was repainted some years ago in its original sable color. The paint is in very nice condition. The biscuit interior is all original and is also in very good condition. Dash and gauges are in excellent condition, the car even retains its original AM/FM radio. All gauges are in working order with the exception of the clock. The factory hardtop fits very well and the headliner is very good. Note that all factory hardtops were black and were never originally the body color. Wire wheels are very nice with Pirelli P4000 in excellent condition. The soft top is in excellent condition, fits well and the rear plastic is clear.
Mechanically the matching number engine runs as a V12 Jaguar engine should run ... smooth and with plenty of power! Oil pressure is 70+ psi. Please refer to the photo which shows the oil pressure gauge at idle. Automatic transmission shift fine. Car leaves no fluids on the floor ... a bit unusual for a Jaguar 🙂
Body is rust free with very good gaps and no signs of ever been in an accident. The most critical item to pay attention when purchasing a Jaguar e-type is the body. The mechanical parts can be fixed (at a cost), but the body repairs can get very, very expensive. These cars are all over 30+ years old ... a lot can happen in 30 years! Uou will be pleased with the body condition of this car. Another big plus is this car is extremely original and has not been tampered. It retains the original emission control systems and hookups. I've seen may V12 Jags that have been "de-smogged" by people that had no idea what they were doing. One of the reasons why so many of these cars leak oil is people have disconnected the crankcase ventilation system. Best to leave the car as it left the factory.
If you plan on taking the car on long trips I would recommend replacing the cooling hoses and belts, some are probably the original.
Includes jack in the bag, knock off hammer, boot cover for when the soft top is down, owners manual, rubber logoed mats (to protect original carpets), lubrication chart and wiring diagram. Overall this is a "no-excuses" #2 condition car.
