British Racing Green with original cinnamon interior, black canvas soft top, factory hardtop, AT, PS, AC

This is a very original matching number 1974 Jaguar series 3 V12 roadster with only 44K miles. It comes with the rare factory hardtop, automatic transmission, chrome wire wheels, power steering and air conditioner. The car had a recent bare metal respray in its original British Racing Green color. The interior is cinnamon and is original and in very good condition. This is perhaps the most desirable color combination on an XKE. This car would qualify for a Jaguar Heritage Certificate as numbers and color combo is as it left the factory.

Body: The most important aspect of any E-type is the condition of the body. This one is rust and accident free, just like you like to find them. I have not found any indications of panels ever been replaced. The original floors are in very good condition as is the trunk floor. The body wasn recently taken down to bare metal and painted in its original British Racing Green color. There is a small dent on the left rear bumper (see photo). No dents or scratches on the paint. Tires have plenty of thread, wire wheels are nice and tight.

Interior: The interior is original with the exception of the two front mats which were recently replaced. The leather is in great condition, especially for its age. The soft top is new and was upgraded to canvas (originally they were vinyl to cut cost), it fits very well. All gauges are original and in working order, with the exception of the clock, which probably stopped working in 1975. The radio is most likely the original and in working order.

Engine and mechanicals: Engine runs great! Superb oil pressure and no smoke and no oil leaks This is one very fast V12 Jag! I've owned several V12 e-type and this is one of the best when it comes to performance. The automatic transmission (which I personally prefer for the series 3 cars) shifts smoothly. Brakes, power steering, and electrical system are working properly.

Others: Included is the boot cover (for when the top is down), original owners manual in pouch, original dealer sales invoice, jack in the bag, knock off hammer and tool, original passport to service booklet and original radio booklet. I found the spare ignition key screwed to the engine firewall, as it originally left the factory (it is still there).

Jaguar e-type V12 roadsters are great touring cars and have one of the best lines of any car ever produced. This particular Jaguar is ideal for the person not looking for a trailer queen, but something very nice to drive on a sunny day.

These photos show the Jaguar as it was being chemically stripped to the metal. Notice the can of "Aircraft Stripper" in one of the photos.
