1977 Lancia Scorpion

This 1977 Lancia Scorpion has 33K original miles and only has had three owners. I am assisting the owner sell his car. The Lancia is located in the Atlanta, Georgia area.

The current owner purchased the car in 1998 from a Delta Airlines pilot. The car had sat for some time and he decided to refresh the car both cosmetically and mechanically. The car originally came with smogged Weber carbs to meet USA regulations of that time. These were replaced with dual 40mm Weber and an Alquati manifold. The better carburetion plus the addition a Compton exhaust made the car breath much better and improve the drivability. It now pulls smoothly in fifth gear from 1500rpm and has power until the 7000rpm red line.

I took the Lancia out for a test drive and this thing pulls without hesitation! This was my first time behind the wheel of a Scorpion and I was quite impressed in how well this car glues itself to the road. The engine revs freely making wonderful sounds. A fun car to drive!

All four tires were replaced, as well as the brake rotors, brake lines, brake pad, master and slave cylinders, plus brake calipers were rebuilt. To help with the handling, the car received lowering springs from "The Monte Hospital" so the car is 2" lower than stock. As a side benefit the car looks even better now that it is slightly lowered.

Lancia created a rallye version of the Scorpion known simply as 037. The bulky USA mandated front and rear bumpers on this car were replaced with the MUCH more attractive versions used on the 037. The combination of the slightly lowered suspension and the clean bumpers give the Scorpion a very aggressive yet attractive look.

The interior is all original. There are some open stitches and tears as can be seen on the photos. These seats should not be expensive to repair, or you can simply put a seat cover over them. The Lancia has air conditioner and the system was pressurized to check for leaks (none were found) but the compressor belt was never connected, therefore working status is unknown.
