1965 Maserati Sebring

This is a very nice Rosso Rubino (metallic burgundy) Maserati Sebring series 1 that has gone through a thorough mechanical restoration. It has the Maserati inline 6 engine, ZF 5-speed, triple Weber carbs, and all disc brakes. The car was delivered in September 1964 in Rome and is titled as a 1965. In the 1970's it was owned by a Wells Fargo executive in San Francisco. In the late 70's it was purchased by Carlos Maduro, also of California. Mr. Maduro owned the car over 20 years and restored it to the cosmetic condition we see today. The car was sold in 1999 to a dealer in Texas.

The prior owner purchased the car in 2001 and gave it to Bob Smith Coachworks, which is a very reputable Ferrari restoration shop in Texas, with instructions to "fix whatever it needs". Over the last ten years I have receipts documenting expenses of $128,388. Please do not think this car was in terrible shape and required a lot of body work. Quite the contrary, the paint and interior were not restored and are essentially in the same excellent condition as when bought in 2001. The engine, transmission, clutch, brakes, etc were done. I would estimate the engine has less than 1,000 miles since the rebuilt.

The paint appears to be lacquer and is in very good condition. The paint is about 15 years old and according to a prior owner was a long and detailed process of painting and sanding. There are two blemishes on the left front fender; please look at the two photos. The body is in excellent rust free condition with very good body gaps. Excellent chrome and glass. The undercarriage is dry and straight. Interior is very nice. The leather is in great condition and has just the right amount of patina. The car has air conditioner and uses a modern rotary compressor which was nicely installed hidden in the front right of the engine bay. Complete documented engine and transmission rebuilt in 2005. New tires, including the spare, installed last year. Engine converted to carbs using the proper Weber 42 DCOE (which are a bit unique to Maserati) and proper cam cover and air cleaner. Rare tool kit and jack. This car is all sorted out, runs very good and is ready to be enjoyed.

Car comes with a ton of receipts, copies of manuals, tool kit and jack.
